This is a three-day, introductory sailing course. No prior boating experience or navigation skills are required. Over the 24 hours of this class, each student will learn to sail a 22-foot Keelboat in light to moderate wind and sea conditions on the California Delta.

ASA 102 Keelboat 2
This is a two-day, sailing course designed to help students fully master the skills previously learned in ASA 101 – Keelboat 1. Successful completion of ASA 101 – Keelboat 1 is a required prerequisite.

ASA 103 – Basic Coastal Cruising
This three-day course prepares each student to safely cruise on a 27- 30 foot auxiliary powered sailboat in local waters under moderate wind and sea conditions.

ASA 104 – Bareboat Cruising
This 3 day/3 night live-aboard course is an advanced cruising class, designed for students who are interested in bareboat chartering. Students will be trained to act as skipper and crew of a 35-foot auxiliary powered sailboat in San Francisco Bay waters.

ASA 105 – Coastal Navigation
No prior boating experience or navigation skills are required to take this class. Upon completion of the class, students will be able to demonstrate the navigational theory required to safely navigate a sailing vessel in coastal or inland waters. With successful completion of the tests, the student will receive Coastal Navigation ASA certification.
ASA 106 – Advanced Coastal Cruising
This class prepares students to safely act as skipper and crew of a sailing vessel about 30 to 50 feet in length. This is a four day, four night class, with daytime and nighttime sailing in coastal water.
ASA 117 – Celestial Navigation
This basic celestial navigation class teaches the theory and practice needed to determine latitude and longitude at sea using the noon sun and the star Polaris (a.k.a. the North Star) with just a small eleven-page booklet, a sextant, a watch, and simple arithmetic.
